Where: Access Living, 115 W. Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60654 What: A follow-up to AXIS Dance Company’s National Convening on Physically Integrated Dance in the USA in May 2016, The Midwest Regional Convening on Physically Integrated Dance is one of six regional town-halls that will address the unique landscape of inclusive dance throughout the US. We invite dancers, dance companies, educators, presenters, funders, students, advocates and allies to spend the day discussing the Midwest’s existing models of physically integrated dance, as well as envisioning the future of inclusive dance in our region. This is intended to be a first-step in ongoing conversations linking local initiatives to the national conversation.
Hosted by Access Living, Bodies of Work and the Department of Disability and Human Development at UIC, Loyola University Chicago, and Momenta.
Funded by AXIS Dance Company, Dance/USA, and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
